1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Furrgency ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Age Requirement (COPPA): You must be at least 13 years old to use Furrgency. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts.

2. Description of Service

Furrgency is a pet emergency companion application that provides:

• General emergency guidance for common pet health situations
• Pet profile management and health record storage
• Veterinary contact organization
• Medication tracking and reminders
• Location-based veterinary clinic finder
• Evidence-based emergency guides, CPR tutorial, and first aid content sourced from established veterinary protocols
• AI-powered document scanning and AI Symptom Analysis (Premium and above — see Section 3 for important limitations)

Content Disclosure: The core emergency guides, symptom checker decision tree, CPR tutorial, and first aid content in Furrgency are curated, evidence-based content sourced from established veterinary protocols, AVMA guidelines, and the RECOVER Initiative. They are not AI-generated. Furrgency uses artificial intelligence (AI) and large language model (LLM) technology only in two specific features: the AI Document Scanner (which extracts health data from uploaded documents) and the AI Symptom Analysis feature (available on Premium and above). These AI features are informational only and do not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI outputs may contain errors and should always be verified with a licensed veterinarian.

3. Medical Disclaimer

THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY FURRGENCY IS FOR GENERAL INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

• The App does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• Content is not intended to replace professional veterinary consultation
• Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian with any questions about your pet's health
• Never disregard professional veterinary advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in this App
• If you think your pet may have a medical emergency, call your veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately

4. User Accounts

You may use Furrgency without an account (guest mode) or create an account for additional features:

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Upload malicious code or content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use the App to harm animals or promote animal cruelty

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the exclusive property of Furrgency and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Furrgency is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information in the App
• We are not liable for any harm to your pet resulting from reliance on information in the App
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any)

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Furrgency and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

8.5 Subscription and Auto-Renewal Terms

Furrgency offers optional paid subscription plans (Pro and Premium). By subscribing:

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Billing: You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for the subscription fee at the start of each billing period.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are provided.
• Price Changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before any subscription price increase. Continued use after the price change constitutes acceptance.
• Free Trials: If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, but sections relating to liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Furrgency operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution: Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

California Residents: Notwithstanding the above, California residents retain all rights under California law, including the right to seek relief in small claims court and rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
